"Hooray," he made a face as he finally started eating. @Morrigan

"Maybe she'll be easy to find." @Morrigan

"Obviously he is," Seth shook his head, "he's not the one that's going to have to clean up the mess either." @Morrigan

"Okay first off who gives a shit and secondly I doubt she scares that easy if she's got the nerve to steal from us and work for whatever organization she's with." @Morrigan

"I guess. Still annoying," he shook his head, "I can't believe that bonehead just let her run off." @Morrigan

"Thanks Sotty," he said before ending the call and moving to join Alice to eat, "I shoulda known he'd have some kind of string attached." @Morrigan

"I said she didn't I?" @Morrigan

"Some kid left out the back of the auto shop five minutes or so. I need you to find out where she's going." @Morrigan

"Yeah yeah. We'll lock it up," he answered as he started the call. @Morrigan

"Oh I'm sure she played it up nicely," Seth shook his head, "the good ones always do." @Morrigan

"Shoulda just kept her here," Seth rolled his eyes as he set his helmet aside and reached for his personal phone to call Scotty. @Morrigan

"Did you get a name or am I supposed to go follow her right now?" @Morrigan

"Pretty sure I could get a kid to talk," Seth rolled his eyes. @Morrigan

"Why would you let her leave?" @Morrigan

"And what's that?" @Morrigan

"What happened to having it waiting?" @Morrigan

Kae was up and out in an instant, slinking from the office and heading for the back door. She swallowed thickly as she pushed out into the back alley, feeling the sting of frustrated tears now that she was alone. Getting that case back had been her only shot at getting out from under this. @Morrigan

"Sure you do," she rolled her eyes, "if leaving is still on the table I'm good with that." @Morrigan

Well, that explained why Anoco hadn't pursued trying to get it back. She didn't want to break the truce she'd mentioned in passing. Fucking that up was the sort of thing that would get an example made out of her. That was assuming this one didn't have her killed as soon as she fessed up, anyway. It seemed likely. People didn't do anything without gaining from it and after he had a name there was nothing to gain from helping her. Kae ended up just shaking her head, "Federal witness protection programs don't even stop these people killing who they want to." @Morrigan

Kae looked down at the sigil and huffed as she realized she was screwed no matter what she did, "Great," she muttered. @Morrigan

"If I tell you who to talk to then they're going to think I went to their enemies for help and I will be lucky to end up in a ditch," she glared up at him, "I didn't ask for your help and this doesn't have anything to do with you beyond you refusing to give it back." @Morrigan
