"Maybe they were wanted for heavier crimes," he shrugged, "or maybe on a last strike, prison was a certainty for 'em."

"What do you mean?"
@Morrigan

"I dunno, considering the number if idiot kids that kill themselves for likes on social media I think I'd rather not know," he rolled his eyes - though the helmet hid it.

"Yeah, no shit," he chuckled in agreement, "at least we get to leave this job at the door."

The senior officer gave her a nod and assured them his people had it from there.
"Not thinking about switching into detective work, are you?" Seth teased as they returned to their bikes.
@Morrigan

"Preferably the other way."

"I'm not planning on running then either."
@Morrigan

"Nope. Everything went smooth," he answered with a smirk.

Seth had little trouble rousting the remaining girls from where they were hiding. He zip tied their hands behind their back and then started filing them out the front of the house, announcing himself before sending them out.
"There's one around the back that needs medical," he informed one of the officers.

"You think that hurts," Seth scoffed, letting his weight up off the bat.
He left the gangster lying on the floor, moving to sweep the building now that things had quieted down.

Grey Cloud
Started by Alice Gregory-Redford ·
Alice hadn't wanted to but the kid that was being booked with Richie's name on her apartment she rolled her eyes. "I'm going to Harlan," Alice said to Seth before she limped off to her bike to head further in town.
It was a longer drive but it was gentler.
Once she was patched up and sent home with advil.... fucking advil, she took an automated cab home and went to take a shower before she crawled into bed expecting her husband wouldn't be home for hours. After his trip to his brother's place he would have to go back on duty and she wasn't able to join him.
She eventually fell asleep not able to really relieve the pain in her leg.
She would wake up a few minutes after Seth got home.
Stretching her top half she got up to go out to see him. "Harlan said I can come back to work tomorrow if I want."

Black Cloud
Started by Seth Redford ·
Two weeks really wasn't enough time off for the injuries they sustained, but all the same Seth and Alice were back on the beat. Their first few days had been uneventful. Then they'd been called in on another narcotics bust.
It didn't go as badly as the first had. Most of the perps left the scene in cuffs rather than body bags. But Alice's leg had been injured again.
It made for the first close call since they'd gotten the news that their speculations about parenthood were going to be realities in just a few months. So a job that Seth usually wouldn't have thought twice about left him thoroughly shaken as all the worst possibilities hit him.
That swiftly switched gears to anger when he found himself processing some kid who's first ID scan flagged as a fake. Of course that turned into an ordeal in and of itself, one that only left him further irate when he demanded a home address... that registered under his brother's name. Same complex, different apartment.
So while Alice left to go get her leg treated, Seth cuffed the kid and hauled her off to Richie's apartment where he was no standing outside, holding a sullen Kaella firmly by the scruff of the neck.

Off days
Started by Alice Gregory-Redford ·
They had a rather slow day by the time the final call came up. They were leading up to a two day weekend where the pair planned to veg out on their couch with monster movies, beer and a pile of delivered food. Unfortunately, the call, while routine, went bad.
A few of the perps were hopped up on a new street drug which made them erratic and they stood longer than their bodies should have. Like their head didn't get the message that they were dead.
As the last one finally fell into a twitching pile on the ground Alice ran over to Seth to check him. They were both beaten worse than they had been in a while. Alice had was limping from a shot to her leg and she didn't even realize her arm or head was bleeding yet. Seth had been hit in the torso but his armor deflected that, it was the one into his side that had her worried. "Hey," she said slapping the side of his helmet. "Hey. You need to stay awake."

Bad luck
Started by Richard Redford ·
Richie had figured the girl would eventually circle back around for the box if it was important to her, her job or her client. He still figured she was lying to him but instead of turning it over or throwing it out he kept it and made sure to keep it charged in case whatever was inside of it required it.
That night he had a meeting with a few of the middle men that dealt the drugs for his family. They were getting a new distribution and airing any grievances for pay or workload or whatever and it was Richie's job to field them or pass them on to his parents.
It was about halfway through it that he got a notification on his watch that someone was trying to access the back door. When he pulled up the feed he noted that it was the girl. He excused himself and as she came inside he grabbed her, pulling her in close and covering her mouth.
It was a swift move to put her into his office. "If you know what's good for you, you'll keep quiet," he said pointing at her before locking her inside.
