"I'm not... sure what that means." @Morrigan
-
"A few months," she answered without thinking much of it. @Morrigan
-
"It was unexpected for me, too," Kae shrugged. @Morrigan
-
"It's my first day." @Morrigan
-
There was a com system, but Kae didn't really like using it unless she was busy. She hopped off her chair and went to step out into the bay, "Hey Chuck. Someone's asking for you," she called, lingering just long enough to see the woman give her a thumbs up in acknowledgement. "She's on her way," Kae reported as she returned to her spot. @Morrigan

Seth wasn't anywhere in the line of fire as the shots sounded. He stayed in place until he heard the sound of a trigger clicking on an empty chamber. "See, that was just stupid," he said as he stepped around the open door and put a round into the woman trying to reload her weapon. @Morrigan
-
Kae looked up as the door opened, sitting upright a little further as the woman approached the desk, "She's in the bay. I'll grab her for you." @Morrigan
-
"Alright. Thanks," she answered. And it was back to living on egg shells. She'd gone from a fringe debt to the Nakada's to some kind of intimate view into the Redford's... and she still didn't even understand what was supposed to be owed. Kae huffed as she settled behind the desk and started to better familiarize herself with the scheduling system. @Morrigan
-
"I guess I'll get settled then." @Morrigan
-
She hadn't actually said that, but Kae nodded. @Morrigan
-
"But they own like... half the city." @Morrigan
-
"Why would they come into a place like this?" @Morrigan
-
"Are they in a lot?" @Morrigan
-
"Anything else I should know?" @Morrigan
-
Well that's weird, Kae thought. Even working at that stupid burger joint she'd still had to pay for meals, with a discount. But she nodded, "Alright." @Morrigan
-
"Sounds easy enough," she nodded. @Morrigan
-
"Okay," she nodded as she followed the woman into the front of the store. @Morrigan
-
"So what am I supposed to be doing?" she asked, trying to move off the subject. @Morrigan
-
"Oh," she looked down immediately, cheeks flushing with shame, "right." @Morrigan
-
"What did he tell you about all this?" She asked curiously. This Chuck woman looked pretty harmless in Kae's observation. That was only reinforced when Chuck shrugged off her jacket to reveal a pregnant belly. How was someone like her involved with this place? @Morrigan
-
"He doesn't really tell me anything," Kae answered as she followed the woman inside. @Morrigan
-
Well this hadn't been what she'd expected. Kae paused a second longer than she probably should have before nodding, "Yeah." @Morrigan
-
"Someone called Chuck." @Morrigan
-
Kae turned toward the voice, "Sort of," she answered as she saw the woman, "I'm supposed to be starting a job here today." @Morrigan

Seth had just settled into position when the back door burst open. The perp never actually saw him, as Seth had positioned himself so the door would swing and block him. He leveled the runner with an easy shot, dropping the man where anyone else who tried to do the same would see the body before they actually left the building. As he heard another coming he spoke up, "You wanna live you'll turn around and leave quiet out the front," he called. @Morrigan
